Rambla de los Llanos Viaduct
The Rambla de los Llanos viaduct is one of the various infrastructures erected since 1885 by the prestigious British company The Great Southern of Spain Railway Company to serve the Almanzora railway. A railway infrastructure that linked Murcia and Granada and was in operation for more than a century.
This structure, in which stone masonry was used, has a central semi-circular arch with enormous voussoirs. Today, integrated into the Nature Trail, it allows hikers and cyclists to cross the bed of the Rambla de los Llanos, one of the main tributaries of the River Almanzora.
It is worth noting the presence, on one of its sides, of an arch of smaller dimensions, but in the image and likeness of the main element of this construction. To ensure the safety of users, wooden handrails have been installed to make this infrastructure blend in perfectly with the natural environment in which it is located.
