Old Station at Santa Cristina d'Aro

Located at km 31.825 of the line, it had three tracks. As a curious fact, it is the only station on the line that is located on the opposite side to the usual one, so the track layouts had to be changed.

It was a third category station, built in masonry and with a gable roof covered with flat tiles. The interior consisted of a waiting room, ticket office, stationmaster's office and living quarters. Next to it was the typical public restrooms building with a hipped roof, a well and a level crossing.

Another curiosity of this station is that it had six stationmasters and its main problem was the level crossing that was guarded with two barriers fitted with wheels. The track itself was the separation between the housed area and the bordering fields. As the number of people moving through the town increased, as well as road transport, people could not wait on the edge of the platform, so the barrier had to be reinforced. In addition, it was the stationmaster, Enriqueta Bou, who oversaw the clearing of the way for the train.

Today it is surrounded by greenery and in a good state of conservation and serves as an information booth.
