Old Railway Bridge
On April 10th, 1969, the railway line from Sant Feliu de Guíxols to Girona was closed. After several protests and even some private feasibility studies, at 17:16 the last train set off from Girona to complete the route for the final time. The director of the company was travelling in one of the carriages and at each of the stations he was received with cheers and applause, except in Sant Feliu. There, a minute of silence was observed, broken by the whistle of the locomotive, bringing to an end the 77 years of history of the Carrilet.
That locomotive bid farewell to all the stations on the line and crossed all the bridges before entering its new lethargy. One of those bridges is this one, which crosses a serene and calm forest landscape preceded by the halt located in Font Picant.
The track runs through meadows bordered by the shade provided by the wide stone pine trees until it reaches the town of Bell-lloc at the old railway station.
The bridge has been refurbished and can be used both by hikers and cyclists.
