Nuestra Señora de la Virgen del Carmen hermitage
The Nuestra Señora del Virgen del Carmen hermitage is in the municipality of Monreal del Campo, in the Jiloca District.
The church, built in masonry, has a square floor plan consisting of a single nave covered with a ceiling. Although the original building dates to the 18th century, during all of 1967 the hermitage was remodelled and enlarged.
The portico is a notable feature in the exterior; it has three semicircular arches, with the central one being slightly higher than the others.
The building is rather simple and lacking in decoration. The external walls are whitewashed and the brick arches are orange-coloured. An image of the Virgin of Carmen is on the façade pediment.
The Virgen del Carmen festivities take place on 16 July.
