Arconada
This an old village in the comarca of Bureba in Burgos, sitting at an altitude of 705 m and with a population of around 13 inhabitants. Its centre is crossed by the River Valdabre, a tributary of the River Homino.
The only architectural element in Arconada is the old Church of Santa Eulalia, which is today in a state of neglect, the effects of which can be seen in the aesthetics of the building. On the façade of the church, bordering the doorway, there are two ornamental alcoves with honeycombs, as well as some large capitals that are quite worn.
Due to the lack of residents in the village, especially during the winter months, and in order to protect it from theft, the altarpiece of Santa Eulalia that was housed in this church was taken to the Museum of Altarpieces in Burgos, in the Church of San Esteban.
With regard to its natural values, this municipality stands out for its excellent location within the Navas Valley, with a wide range of biological and geological interest, dotted with riverside forests and where the different tones of the substratum of the slopes give it a characteristic landscape.
