Tubilla
The town of Tubilla is part of the municipality of Villarcayo de Merindad de Castilla la Vieja, located in the beautiful region of Las Merindades.
This village is located between the towns of Cigüenza and Escanduso and can be reached by the BU-561 road. Although it has few inhabitants, it is well known for the rural tourism accommodation that is scattered throughout the area and on which the local economy is based.
It is well worth taking a stroll through its streets, where several examples of ancient civil architecture can be seen, as well as symbols and coats of arms adorning the façades of the town's buildings. The Plaza Mayor (main square) is a must-see, undoubtedly the best place to contemplate the charm of this traditional Castilian town. Next to the town hall is the famous Clock Tower, built in the 16th century. It also has a parish church around which the locals gather on 17th July to celebrate the festivities of Santa Marina.
