Vado
Vado is one of the districts belonging to the municipality of Dehesa de Montejo. Located very close to Cervera de Pisuerga and St. Vincent's rock hermitage, the Pisuerga and Rivera rivers flow through this town.
Years ago, this town was a transcendental point along the legendary La Robla railroad, whose tracks ran parallel to the Forgotten Way of St. James through this emblematic region of Palencia. This railway line was considered to be the longest narrow-gauge line in Western Europe at 335 km long.
Stone houses line the streets, including a neoclassical mansion dating from 1713 with a coat of arms and the St. Sebastian parish church, a Gothic building with alterations and additions from the Baroque period. The church has a single nave covered with a star-shaped ribbed vault and ashlar masonry was used in its construction. There is a 16th century sculpture of St. Sebastian and a 17th century altarpiece.
