Las Torres
Las Torres is a small village that, together with El Ventorro, La Pinilla and Orejudos, make up the municipality of Arapiles. It is located in the province of Salamanca and belongs to the region of Campo de Salamanca (Campo Charro).
This is where the Spanish troops, accompanied by a brigade of Portuguese infantry and a brigade of heavy cavalry commanded by Le Marchant decided to camp before fighting in the famous Battle of Arapiles, which took place during the Peninsular War. The battle resulted in the crushing defeat of the French army commanded by Marshal Marmont.
The highlight of this village is the church of Santa Eulalia, whose festivities are celebrated on December 10.
