Municipality
Toledillo
The village has just over 30 inhabitants and until 1972 came under the administration of Pedrajas Council. That year Toledillo was incorporated by the city of Soria and became a district of the capital. It is believed that, as in many of the surrounding municipalities, the origin of this locality is to be found in the Christian repopulation of the area in the 12th century after the Reconquest from the Moors. In this case, it is believed the area was repopulated with settlers from Toledo.
The heritage of this district of Soria includes the Church of Nuestra Señora del Rosario, built in the 12th century, and which underwent a major renovation in the 16th century. It is a rustic style temple built in masonry with ashlar reinforcements. The vault that covers the nave is a pointed barrel vault and the chancel features a square floor plan and a star-shaped vault.
Inside there are several 18th century altarpieces and a Gothic image of Our Lady of Bethlehem. Its civil architecture includes an old public washhouse, somewhat abandoned but of which the pond and part of its original structure are still preserved. Toledillo celebrates festivals in honour of La Virgen de Belén on 4 January. Then, on the first Sunday in October, locals also hold a pilgrimage in honour of La Virgen del Rosario.
