Vildé
Vildé is a town belonging to the municipality of El Burgo de Osma, also known as Burgo de Osma-Ciudad de Osma, in the province of Soria. One of the thirteen districts that form part of the municipality along with Alcubilla del Marqués, Lodares de Osma, La Olmeda and La Rasa.
The origins of this locality can be traced back to the Christian conquest of the province of Soria, specifically the Alfoz de Gormaz. Vildé has been linked to the history of the town of Gormaz until the disappearance of the feudal regime in the 19th century.
In the mid-19th century, this locality incorporated the nearby village of Navapalos into its municipal boundaries. Later, at the end of the 20th century, Vildé was incorporated into the municipality of Burgo de Osma due to its limited size and population.
One of the municipality's most notable landmarks is the Torre de la Mora, a funerary monument situated on the outskirts. This structure, erected between the 1st and 2nd centuries AD, is a tomb whose characteristics are based on those found on the Mediterranean coast.
It is noteworthy for its distinctive and unusual design in the northern region of the peninsula.
Near this funerary monument, the remains of an ancient Hispano-Roman settlement known as Traslashuertas can be found. The ancient villa is situated in the vicinity of the province, where the remains of two centuries of Roman history can be found.
Furthermore, the village of Vildé boasts several additional attractions, including the Fountain of San Luis and several thermal springs.
The festivities in honour of San Benito and the Virgen de la Asunción will take place between 20 and 23 August.
