Tunnel 6 Piscifactoría
Tunnel 6 Piscifactoría is a 330 metre-long underpass named after the old fish farm located nearby, which historically supplied specimens for the restocking of rivers and reservoirs in the region, recalling the link between the railway, the local economy and natural resources.
The tunnel façade, with its entrance lined with characteristic hexagonal formwork, ensures the stability of the structure and blends harmoniously into the rocky surroundings.
In the absence of lighting, it is compulsory for users to carry a torch or autonomous lighting device.
The Piscifactoría Tunnel was part of the old Baeza-Utiel narrow-gauge railway line, which was intended to serve the mining industry and the transport of goods and in the early 20th century and ended up being a frustrated dream. Today, converted into the Greenway and Nature Trail, it is an example of sustainable reuse of railway heritage, promoting active mobility and nature tourism while respecting the industrial and environmental legacy.
