Val de la Parra stream and railway bridge
The Arroyo Val de la Parra, also known as the Arroyo de Valdeparra, is a small stream that flows between the districts of Campo de Daroca (Zaragoza) and Jiloca (Teruel), more specifically between the municipalities of Val de San Martín, Valdehorna and San Martín del Río, where it empties into the River Jiloca and meets the Acequia de Gabarda, which runs into the Teruel municipality of Báguena.
Despite what its name suggests, the scarce continuity of its course, and the fact that it is dry most of the year, indicate that it could currently be considered a ravine more than a stream.
The railway bridge is outside the village of San Martín del Río, and spans the bed of the Val de la Parra stream.
It is a 21-metre-long metal viaduct that rests on two ashlar bases on the banks of the stream. It belongs to the old railway line that connected Calatayud with Valencia, crossing the province of Teruel, and is on the stretch that runs between the Zaragoza municipality of Villanueva del Jiloca and the Teruel village of San Martín del Río.
