The municipality of El Royo is comprised of four distinct neighbourhoods, one of which is Langosto, a town that belongs to the district of El Valle y La Vega Cintora.
The 1528 Census of Dairy Farmers lists Logonsto as a dairy farmer. This document indicates that a total of five family units were resident in the village at that time. The 1842 census revealed that there were nine households in the village, which would become part of Hinojosa de la Sierra in the mid-19th century.
The town centre offers the opportunity to visit the church of Santa Maria Magdalena. It is a Romanesque church with a single nave. The semicircular apse is a notable feature, along with the presbytery, which is of considerable dimensions. Additionally, the continuous cornice features smooth bevelled corbels. The church is accessed via its south façade doorway, which features a portico with two arches dating from the 17th century.
The local community of El Royo celebrates the festivities in honour of Santa Maria Magdalena on 22 July.
