La Fuensanta Viaduct
This railway viaduct is a key piece of infrastructure on the railway line connecting the Ojos Negros mine and the port of Sagunto. The Compañía Minera de Sierra Menera built the line to take its raw materials to the port for subsequent distribution.
It is approximately 125 m long, is made up of three arches and has a very similar structure to the rest of the viaducts found along the route of this disused railway line, as it is built from blocks of stone and ashlar, perfectly integrated into the landscape, and has a metal railing attached to both sides. Today, this old railway tunnel is part of the greenway route included within the national network of Nature Trails.
As for the ravine, although it is not too deep or with steep slopes, it is remarkably beautiful, with gentle slopes. This natural feature is quite long and flows downstream into the Cascajar ravine. Also in the vicinity of the viaduct is the Fuensanta spring, which not only offers refreshment for cyclists and hikers, but also supplies water to crops and vegetable gardens in the area.
