False acacia (Robina pseudoacacia)
The false acacia tree, native to the eastern United States, is widespread in many countries for ornamental use in urban gardening.
The false acacia is a thorny deciduous tree belonging to the legume family that can reach 30 m in height, with light green imparipinnate compound leaves.
It flowers abundantly in spring, with white flowers arranged in clusters that are attractive to bees due to their intense fragrance and are known as bread and cheese because they are edible. The fruits are arranged in a brownish dehiscent legume, inside which there are between 4 and 10 brownish, kidney-shaped seeds.
