Santa Eulalia
Santa Eulalia is a municipality and town in the province of Teruel, at an altitude of 985 m above sea level. It sits the Ebro basin and the waters of the River Jiloca flow nearby. It boasts a continental Mediterranean climate and is whipped by the predominant wind known as el cierzo.
The coat of arms of Santa Eulalia features three towers, linking back to an old villa called Tres Torres and the importance of the Heredia family in the consolidation of the village, as these towers also appear in the family coat of arms.
The most emblematic buildings include the City Hall, the Church of La Inmaculada, the Shrine of La Virgen del Molino and the Shrine of San Antonio. There are also several noble houses, including the birthplace of Isidoro de Antillón, probably the town’s most illustrious son.
The predominant activity in the municipality was agriculture, with sugar beet the main crop until the closure of the sugar factory. The town also has an important livestock population and a significant industrial fabric.
Local festivals in honour of La Virgen del Molino held in August and the patron saint festivities of Santa Eulalia held in February.
