Duáñez
The small village of Duáñez is a minor local authority which, together with Carazuelo, Fuentetecha and Mazalvete, belongs to the municipality of Candilichera, in the comarca of Campo de Gómara.
The economy of Duáñez is based mainly on the cultivation of cereals and sunflowers. There are a few small sheep farms. There is an abundance of game in the area, especially hare, partridge, rabbit and quail.
The most emblematic building in the town is the Church of Santa Cruz, a single-storey church with the entrance located on one of its side façades via a semicircular arch. It is built in masonry and has an apse topped by a bell tower with a double opening and two bells.
Locals visit Candilichera to celebrate the patron saint festivals in honour of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción and San Roque on 15 and 16 August.
