Municipality
Rioseras
The municipality of Rioseras that today forms part of the locality of Valle de las Navas, which was born in 1970 from the merger of Rioseras with six other villages.
Rioseras, the Church of San Saturnino, a Romanesque-Gothic building that is currently in a state of ruin, is particularly noteworthy, although it is in the process of being restored. This temple consisted of a central nave to which two side naves were later added to give the building greater prominence.
In terms of the economy of the Valle de las Navas area, the engine of the local economy in most of the municipalities has traditionally been agriculture, and cereal cultivation in particular. A wind farm known as La Brújula, with 35 wind turbines, was recently installed in the area, providing a major boost for the development and exploitation of the area.
In terms of local festivals, Rioseras hosts a celebration in honour of Nuestra Señora del Carmen every 16th July. Easter Saturday is also particularly important for locals.
