Parish Church of St. Michael
Perched on a hill overlooking the hamlet of Olmos de Ojeda, stands the Gothic parish church of St. Michael. It was originally built with ashlar masonry, which was later combined with brick as it underwent remodelling and renovations.
It has a single nave with a flat chancel, buttresses, and an adjoining rectangular sacristy. Located at the foot of the church is the current tower, which makes use of the old belfry with two pointed arched arrow slits. The belfry can be accessed by a spiral staircase located in a polygonal section on the south side. There is another belfry with a single arch over the triumphal arch, which is a very common element in Palencia's Romanesque style.
The entrance door is located to the south with a semicircular arch and a cavetto moulding marks the impost line. On the wall, there is a stone block with a cross inscribed inside a circle.
The nave is covered with gothic starred and tierceron ribbed vaults, supported by corbels and pillars attached to the wall and crowned by continuous capitals. These capitals are decorated with sculptures.
Once inside, in the passage leading to the sacristy, there are two Romanesque arches that may have been part of the original doorway. One of them has convex and scotia moulding and the other rests on two small columns on each side with smooth capitals. There is a Gothic window above it, which must have also opened to the exterior.
