Valdedo
Valdedo is one of the 20 charming villages that make up the parish of Ponticiella, whose capital is located in the municipality of Villayón.
Nestled in the basin of the Navia River, Valdedo is surrounded by a diverse landscape featuring chestnut and oak trees, and riverside vegetation in the valley bottoms. In recent years, efforts have been made to reintroduce pine and eucalyptus trees, although they are not native to the area.
A notable characteristic of the region is its mountainous terrain, with the waters of the Polea and Navia rivers providing irrigation to these territories. Nature enthusiasts will find delight in exploring the Sierra de Carondio Protected Landscape, where there are remnants of castros and burial mounds.
Comprising 26 houses, Valdedo is located at an elevation of 440 m, approximately 12.50 km from the municipal capital of Villayón.
