Fuente Tovar
The locality of Fuente Tovar is situated within the municipality of Velamazán.
The name originates from the Dukes of Frías, whose surname was Tovar and who were the lords of this place. Previously, the town was known as Fuentelpuerco.
Following the fall of the Ancien Régime, the town became a constitutional municipality. In the mid-19th century, it became part of Rebollo de Duero.
The cultural heritage of the area includes the Catholic parish church of San Pedro Apóstol and the ruins of the chapel of Miralrío. Furthermore, to the north of the town lies the uninhabited village of Torremocha.
The Roblealto de Fuentelpuerco is in Fuente-Tovar. According to a popular legend, the Virgin protected and saved a shepherd during a tremendous storm, leaving him asleep under an oak tree, the Roblealto.
The patron saint festivities will take place during the second weekend of August. .
