Old Camonreal station
The old Caminreal station was built upon the opening in 1933 of the railway section known as El Caminreal, which linked Teruel and Valencia with Zaragoza.
This milestone turned the village of Caminreal into a major railway junction and crossing point between central Spain and Levante. Its opening meant the arrival of more than 100 railway employees to the village who restored the environment and revolutionised the quiet village.
The station building was designed by the Gutiérrez Soto, the same architect who designed the Zaragoza-Delicias station. The complex had level crossings and a quite a striking building.
Over time, as this railway route became less important, the station was abandoned for a long time. Today, after its restoration, it is destined to be one of the buildings of the future Aragonese Railway Museum, again highlighting its great historical and architectural value.
