Villar de Salcedo
Villar de Salcedo also known as Villar de Salceo is a village belonging to Salcedo (Salceo in Asturian), in the parish of Quirós.
Villar de Salcedo is 3.3 km from Bárzana, the parish capital.
To the north of the village runs a river that flows into the river Quirós, several hundred metres to the west at Arrojo.
Villar de Salcedo lies in the valley of the river Trubia, at the foot of the Las Ubiñas-La Mesa Nature Reserve, which stretches along its western side, and a few kilometres from the Gamoniteiro, which towers to the east of the municipality.
The 18th century chapel of Our Lady of the Snows stands out among the village’s buildings. It is a small chapel that features a wooden altarpiece with two columns.
