Muriellos
Muriellos is a village in the parish of Quirós. The village boundaries include Villarejo and Muriellos itself.
It is in the centre of Asturias, just 7.7 km from Bárzana.
As is generally the case in the parish of Quirós, Muriellos is characterised by mountainous relief, with a lot of vegetation and rural landscape.
One of the peaks closest to Muriellos is Peña Podre, a limestone mountain with karst terrain. At an altitude of 1612 m, its peak is easily reached by a path that gently ascends while offering a spectacular view of Quirós.
The village's church is dedicated to Saint Mary, and its architecture is similar to that of other churches in the area, with a single nave, flat chancel and medieval-style images inside.
In the 19th century there were several mills in the village, but none of them have survived.
