Revinuesa River
One of the tributaries of the Duero River is the Revinuesa. This is a watercourse in the interior of the Iberian Peninsula that has its source at an altitude of 2228 m, at the Santa Inés pass, on the eastern slope of Urbión, because of a glacial lake.
The river originates in the south and flows in a southerly direction, receiving the waters of other streams in the area and lakes such as La Larga, La Helada and La Negra. The river flows into the River Duero in the municipality of Vinuesa.
The River Revinuesa is the second river to pass through the territory of Vinuesa, running its entire length, approximately 12 km, within this municipality.
The river's course is irregular due to its dependence on seasonal input and rainfall.
The river in question receives water from several tributaries, including the Congosto, Rioseco, Jara and Pradilla streams, as well as the Laguna Negra, Torneda and Quemada peak ravines, and the Remonicio river. All on the right bank.
The river is also fed by several streams on the left side, including Pocilga, Cebrián, Alegal, Hoyadas, Hortigal, Garganta, Horcajuelo, Mortacino, Covacho, Dehesa, Viña, Gargantilla, Calabaza and Pellejeros. It is worth noting that the waters of the River Revinuesa are home to a great wealth of fish, with trout being the most interesting species.
