Cruz de Fune Chapel

A short distance from the village of Agua García, in Taraconte, you will find Cruz de Fune Chapel, in the Protected Landscape of Las Lagunetas, which covers an area of more than 3,800 hectares.
The small temple, surrounded by lush vegetation including pine trees, monteverdes and some indigenous flowers, features simple architectural features, a square floor plan and a gable roof.
The chapel is sheltered by a small-leaved holly tree, a tree indigenous to Macaronesia bearing white flowers and red fruit, which is usually found in the laurisilva forests of the Canary Islands. The presence of this specimen gives this place great ethnological importance.
At the beginning of May, on the 3rd to be precise, the town of Agua García dresses up to celebrate the festivities of the Santa Cruz, which includes a pilgrimage to this small chapel in which all the inhabitants take part.
