River Rituerto
The River Rituerto rises in a place known as Peña del Verano near the village of Valdegeña, in the province of Soria. It is a tributary of the River Duero, into which it flows near the village of Rituerto, in the municipality of Cubo de la Solana.
At just over 46 kilometres long, it runs through several towns in the Gómara region. Its main tributary is the Araviana, a small river with a low and irregular flow that rises on the southern slopes of the Moncayo, and its basin covers 823 square kilometres.
The old railway bridge belonging to the Santander-Mediterranean line has recently been replaced by a new footbridge for the Santander-Mediterranean Nature Trail. Thanks to this 16-metre long footbridge, it is possible to cross the river. The surface is made of wood and it has a metal handrail to ensure safety.
