St. Pelayo chapel
Near Perazancas de Ojeda stands the St. Pelayo chapel, which has been declared a Historical and Artistic Monument.
It has a single nave with a wooden roof and a semicircular apse and is one of the oldest Romanesque monuments in Palencia. This is evidenced by an inscription dating from 1076 found on a tombstone, although the Mozarabic remains used to build it could be from an earlier building.
Its Lombard-style chevet is divided into five sections by four columns and decorated with arches and a double frieze. The arch in the doorway rests on Mozarabic capitals and shafts.
Inside are Romanesque paintings from the 12th or 13th century under the apse and in the triumphal arch.
