Valdespina
Valdespina is a small village in the municipality of Borjaban, in the region of Almazán.
During the Middle Ages, the property was owned by the Comunidad de Villa y Tierra de Almazán, which was part of the Sexmo de La Sierra.
Following the fall of the Ancien Régime, the locality became a constitutional municipality known as Borjabad, Valdespina and Velacha, situated in the region of Castilla la Vieja.
The local population has decreased from 95 in 1842 to only 7 in 2022.
The primary economic activities in the area are agriculture and livestock farming, which represent most of the local economy.
The Church of San Miguel Arcángel, located within the town centre of Valdespina, is a notable landmark. Each year, on 29 September, festivities are held in honour of San Miguel, the patron saint of Valdespina.
