At over 121 km long, the Turia – Cabriel Nature Trail runs between two of the most important rivers in the province of Valencia: the Turia and the Cabriel. This route, on its starting and final section, and the rivers that gives it its name, is protected by natural parks: Turia Natural Park and Hoces del Cabriel Natural Park. Most of the trail also runs through the Valle del Cabriel, designated as a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 2019.
The trail is blessed with innumerable spectacular areas and landscapes, combined with the cultural legacy encountered along the way. From the orange and mandarin groves of Pedralba to the Siete Choros fountain in Siete Aguas, through vineyards and impressive historic-monumental complex of Requena, the telegraph tower and carlist war trenches of Villargordo del Cabriel to Vadocañas bridge over the waters of the river Cabriel.
This route has undeniable attractions for the cycling tourist. The constant undulations of this route are compensated for with spectacular view of the surroundings. The central kilometres run along a track that start from the river Magro floodplain and a route that contains a total of four pedestrian sections that will test the expertise of any cyclist, with the exception of the last of these, known as the Senda de la Cueva de Ladrones or “thieves’ cave path”, that must be mandatorily covered on foot.
