Tazacorte Beach

The beach and port of Tazacorte are located in the municipality of the same name, in the west of the island of La Palma, in the Canary Islands. It is one of the longest beaches on La Palma and is located in a protected bay, formed by the mouth of the Barranco de La Angustias ravine, the main drainage route of La Caldera de Taburiente, making it an ideal place to relax.
This beach is characterised by its black volcanic sand, typical of the Canarian coasts, and its generally calm waters, ideal for a pleasant swim. Nearby is the port of Tazacorte, a busy fishing port where it is common to see boats moored. As well as its fishing function, the port has become a departure point for boat trips and other tourist activities such as: diving baptisms or snorkelling equipment for exploring seabed and its rich marine fauna endemic to the island.
The area boasts an attractive promenade surrounding the harbour, offering panoramic views of the sea and the surrounding area. It is complemented by a variety of amenities including restaurants, bars and shops, making it a popular place for tourists and residents alike.
Both the beach and the harbour provide a relaxed and picturesque atmosphere, attracting those looking to enjoy the island by combining maritime activities with the beauty of the volcanic landscapes. This area is also known for its exquisite gastronomy, with fish dishes like vieja or alfonsito and seafood such like limpets, typically accompanied by papas arrugadas, and mojo sauces and paired with local wines.
