The Puntagorda Farmers' Market
The Puntagorda Farmers' Market was inaugurated in August 2002, with the aim of promoting local trade in local produce, highlighting their quality and guarantee of origin, and fostering the primary sector of the municipality and the island. The market has been rewarded for its sustainable management by the La Palma Biosphere Reserve Consortium and certified by BiosphereDiscover, part of the Responsible Tourism Institute.
The Farmer's Market has 40 stalls, with a food section and a crafts section. The market celebrates the "from producer to consumer" model, highlighting the quality and guarantee of origin of its products. The market provides a varied selection of food, including fruit, vegetables, meats, cheese, honey, wines, traditional pastries, cakes, mojo sauces, and more. There are also certified organic agricultural products and wines available.
The farmers’ market is more than just a local trading point. Thanks to its location in an attractive natural setting, close to the municipal centre, it has also come to host a variety of cultural and recreational activities, both on its indoor stage and on the outdoor esplanade.
