Isla de Garcilaso (Garcilaso's island)
Known affectionately by the locals as Playas Viejas (Old Beaches) of the banks of the River Tormes, Garcilaso Island is a 2-hectare river island of great environmental value.
It has a rich riverside flora and fauna with more than 600 trees that were planted during the restoration work carried out by the City Council of Alba de Tormes.
From here, hikers can enjoy what they say are the best panoramic views of the town and the riverbank.
Of note are the sports, tourist, leisure and hotel facilities in the island, as well as a pier with a jetty, a restaurant with a dance floor and a panoramic viewpoint.
