ceramic factory El Carmen
In the town of Valdescobela, which belongs to the municipality of Terradillos, are the ruins of the El Carmen ceramic factory.
The complex was built in this area because of the nearby clay quarries from which the raw material was obtained to make tiles and bricks.
Pottery was fired inside kilns heated with oak wood and then distributed along the railroad line through the nearby La Maza railway halt. The factory was in operation until the 1990s.
