Pregonda Bay

This is a practically virgin bay on the north coast of Menorca. It is located between Cap Negre (Cape Negro) and Playa de Binimel-là (Binimel-là Beach), 10 kilometres from es Mercadal. Furthermore, it belongs to Menorca's North Marine Reserve and to the Natural Site of Special Interest of Ets Alocs a Fornells.
This bay is considered one of the most beautiful in Menorca, protected by two ferruginous massifs and the islets of Illot and Esculls de Pregonda (habitat of the rare Audouin's gull) with yellowish-white volcanic rocks that cushion the waves coming from the north.
Its name comes from a small islet, which stands out due to the curious shape of a large rock, which many people compare to a religious figure praying or in a position to proclaim, hence its name.
The bay contains three beaches, Playa de Pregonda (Pregonda Beach) on the west side next to three small houses, Playa de Salieró (Salieró Beach) on the east side and finally Esculls de Pregonda.
As a result, you can observe an abundance of marine life just a few metres below the surface.
The bay has fine, soft, golden sand, although some of it has acquired a certain orangey colour due to the presence of clay that surrounds the bay. Its waters are bright turquoise and there is a remarkable dune system in the vicinity.
