Tirant Bay
At the end of Tirant Bay, formed by the capes of Fornells and Cavalleria and situated between the Llarga and Negra points, you will find Tirant Bay.
Tirant Bay is an extensive sandy area boasting shallow turquoise waters and fine sand, with an extensive dune system at the back, which stretches over 2 kilometres inland, home to stabilising vegetation, scrubland and a few tamarind pines, as well as a wetland area formed by a torrent with a variety of birds.
It forms an inlet measuring approximately 600 metres by 500 metres wide and is a meeting place for holidaymakers in summer, as well as surfers in winter, who come here in search of the Tramuntana wind to ride the waves on their boards.
In winter, Posidonia algae invade the bay, protecting it from the lashing waves. The existence of Posidonia is considered by scientists to be the best indicator of the beach's good conservation.
To the east of the bay is Playas de Fornells, a residential area characterised by its white houses that imitate Menorcan architecture, and to the west is the small residential area of Tirant Bay. A peculiar garden has also been planted by the right access to the beach, which is brimming with a wide variety of cactus of different shapes and colours, as well as other exotic plants.
