Arenal d’en Castell (Arenal d’en Castell Beach)
Arenal d'en Castell is located on the north-east of the island, in Tramuntana. The beach is located next to the town bearing the same name in the municipality of Es Mercadal.
This is one of the most beautiful spots on the north coast where nature and urban spaces exist in perfect harmony.
The shell-shaped beach stretches 660 metres long and is 25 metres wide. It faces north-west and is known for its crystal-clear waters and white sand. It is located in a bay between Raconada d'es Forats and ses Llautanies, where boats can anchor, and belongs to a larger bay protected by the Codolada and Taronger points.
Over the years, the town has undergone a great deal of development and offers visitors a wide range of tourist attractions.
To the west, also sheltered in a bay, is Arenal de Son Saura (Arenal de Son Saura Beach) which features dunes and marshes. The natural harbour of Addaia and a small beach known as Na Macaret are also nearby.
Interestingly, Arenal d'en Castell (Arenal d'en Castell Beach) is depicted in one of the engravings in the work "Les Balears descrites per la paraula i la imatge" by Archduke Ludwig Salvator of Austria, created during the second half of the 19th century.
