San Cibrán Stream
The San Cibrán stream is a tributary of the River Catoira that rises at an altitude of 180 metres, a few metres from the Shrine of San Cibrán de Dimo, from which it takes its name. It has a single tributary, the Da Lagoa stream, which emerges about 600 metres away at the same altitude.
Along its course, its waters nourish lush riparian vegetation covering its bed, creating an ecosystem of great natural richness. In not-so-distant times, these waters were also harnessed for the important task of grinding cereals, a fundamental activity in the area's rural economy. Even today, it is possible to find several mills in varying states of conservation, witnesses to the past and the close link between water and the lives of the inhabitants.
