Tinajeros
About 10 kilometres from Albacete we find one of its best known areas: Tinajeros. Bathed by the waters of the Canal de Maria Cristina, this rural region is located at an altitude of 680 metres above sea level.
It has a doctor's surgery, pharmacy, school and socio-cultural centre, which houses several municipal services, such as the mayor's office, social services, the social centre for the elderly, the library and two multi-purpose rooms. Also worthy of note are the Church of Santa Cruz, located in the Plaza de la Constitución, its park and its sports centre, which belongs to the Aeroclub of Albacete.
The town is currently crossed by the longest interurban cycle lane in Europe, the Ribera del Júcar, which links the towns of Albacete and Valdeganga along its 25-kilometre route.
Its festivals for the patron saint are held during the first week of May in honour of the Holy Cross, the most important day of these celebrations being the 3rd. During the festivities, a popular parade takes place from the socio-cultural centre and ends at the church, where a floral offering is made to the Holy Cross and the locals enjoy popular dances,
The inhabitants of this hamlet of Albacete work mainly in agriculture and livestock farming.
