Sant Pol beach
Located in a wide, open 1 km long bay, the beach of Sant Pol offers a family atmosphere with an attractive children's play area in the Park of the Dunes and a children's club in the summer season.
It has a beautiful architectural and natural richness. Its distinctive features include its shallow waters and blue flag, indicating high standards are for water quality, safety, access, and public environmental education. From a nature perspective, there is in an area of well-preserved sand dunes, which are protected and have their own unique ecosystem.
In summer, it has a Red Cross lifeguard post, deckchair and kayak rental, showers, and toilet facilities. It also has a pleasant promenade where we can find a wooden path from visitors can admire the beautiful scenery and buildings located along the seafront.
Along the route of the promenade, we find the Estrada House, a stately building of the 19th and 20th century popularly known as the Chalet de las puntas (the villa of the spikes), since it comprises nine ceramic tiled towers. This house together with that of Domenèch - Girbau constitute the evolution from Modernist to Noucentisme architectural style in the area.
For those more passionate about architecture, it is worth exploring the costal path of s’Agaro, which begins at the north end of the promenade and is perhaps the most elegant path in the entire Costa Brava. It runs around an exclusive housing estate from the 1920s, containing the work of Josep Ensesa, who was a student of Gaudí.
