Fuente de la gitana recreational area
This recreational area, located near the Soria town of San Leonardo de Yagüe, is in an area of lush vegetation dominated by species like pine, Scots pine and black pine. Numerous streams meander through the surrounding area, which remain in flow even during the dry summer months.
The name of this recreational area located in the middle of this pleasant spot comes from a drinking water fountain in the centre of the area, which is a monumental infrastructure built in stone and semicircular in shape. As well as tables and benches, there are several barbecue grills and a shelter. It makes for an excellent picnic location, and the Regional Government of Castilla y León, responsible for the strict regulation of such spaces, has declared the Fuente de la Gitana Recreational Area as suitable for barbecues and open fires at a certain times of the year.
