Prados y pastos
One quarter of the territory of Las Ubiñas-La Mesa is covered by meadows and pastures. These pastures are managed through a system of seasonal transhumance, whereby in the summer the higher pastures are grazed, while the rest of the territory is mown.
These meadows and pastures are the result of the sustainable human use of the original forests throughout history, and are a fundamental part of the Asturian landscape.
