Cueva Huerta
Declared a Natural Monument for both its geological value and its biological importance, this site is home to a significant population of Schreiber's bent-winged bats (Miniopterus schreibersii).
It consists of 14 kilometres of galleries divided into three levels: a permanently flooded lower level, a temporarily flooded intermediate level and an upper level with large chambers of great height and expanse.
Legend has it that the Cueva Huerta Natural Monument was formed by the tears shed by a princess mourning the absence of her Moorish lover, shaping the stalagmites and stalactites that the visitor can enjoy today.
