A Parador in the heart of Ribeira Sacra
The Parador de Santo Estevo, which is located in a Benedictine monastery, is one of the jewels of the network. It is in the heart of the Ribeira Sacra, surrounded by nature and boasts spectacular panoramic views of the canyon of the river Sil.
The origins of the monastery date to the 10th century, although it underwent later extensions, so it is influenced by various architectural styles It has three spectacular cloisters: one Romanesque, one Gothic and one Renaissance.
One of the attractions of this Parador is the contrast between the historic building and the avant-garde decoration in its interior It also has a spa in what were once the monastery’s wine cellars and an outdoor jacuzzi with views of the forest surrounding the monastery.
