Parador de Cambados
Tranquillity and relaxation in the Capital of Albariño wines
The beautiful fishing village of Cambados is located in the region of Salnés, in the Rías Baixas. And here, in the capital of Albariño wines, D.O. Rías Baixas, is where the Parador de Cambados awaits you. The former Pazo de Bazán, an elegant manor house with comfortable and well-lit rooms, has retained its interior courtyard and gallery. It’s surrounded by an extensive garden and has a swimming pool where you can enjoy a refreshing swim in summer and the peace and quiet of Cambados during the rest of the year.
It’s an ideal location from which to explore Ría de Arousa and the Rías Baixas, but you really don’t need to go very far. The old quarter of Cambados, designated a Site of Cultural Interest, offers numerous examples of history, culture and heritage. It constitutes the best showcase of Galician manor houses and stately homes. There are also urban beaches with promenades and fine sand such as A Mouta Beach, where the San Sadurniño Tower, the remains of an ancient fortification that defended the town from attackers, is located.
Cambados is an ideal place for wine tourism. You can visit the Wine Museum, located next to the emblematic ruins of Santa Mariña Dozo, and explore routes through wineries, vineyards and tasting rooms. Wine culture is omnipresent in the streets of Cambados, and it’s no coincidence that its biggest celebration, held on the first Sunday of August, is the Albariño Festival. The Parador restaurant offers you the best wines, as well as a selection of the best local produce such as fish, seafood and Padrón peppers.
