The unfinished railway project that was intended to link the towns of Utiel (Valencia) and Úbeda (Jaén) is gradually being recovered for non-motorised recreational use. So far, a good part of the Albacete section has been put into service, along the Vía Verde Sierra de Alcaraz Nature Trail, as well as part of the Jaén section, by means of the two sections of the Segura Nature Trail. This name comes from the nearby Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas Natural Park, the largest protected area in Spain.
